Subject: newbie question on evaluation of input cell

Hi, Shailesh, and welcome to Maxima.
Could you please tell us exactly what front end and version of Maxima you
are using? For the Maxima version, you can find that with build_info(). For
the front end, I guess that will be in the Help menu.
The front end to Maxima that I use (xmaxima) has no "cell" concept....
