Right, should patch the source file, not the generated file.
Anyway the problem is that something (not source if it's Texinfo
or what) complains that there is no description in xmaxima.info
when that file is installed. Maybe that complaint originates from
install-sh or some other bit of the Autoconf machinery.
It is just an advisory message, it doesn't prevent the installation
of the info file.
