I am inclined to discontinue supporting obsolete platforms, however
there might be some users on old systems ... I would like to know,

Let's say that the cmd.exe version of Maxima is installed on Windows 95.
Is there any way (e.g. typing out the command line) for them to execute
maxima.exe ? If there is a simple workaround, that makes it more
attractive to drop Windows 95 et al.

That's an interesting question. I don't have such a system available to
try it. Can someone try it & let us know how it goes?
