Thanks for that guidance. I got that to work (a zero result for
Resid[0]) for nbody=2 for my present sage platform that I built
myself. But it was about two orders of magnitude slower than for the
case when I don't run maxima_calculus('gcd:subres').
(Resid[0].simplify_rational() took minutes rather than seconds to
simplify the nobody=2 expression to zero).
Anyhow, from those really slow results I am expecting the
simplification with maxima_calculus('gcd:subres') will take hours for
the nbody=3 case (if it works at all for that case) for my present
platform. Therefore, I will report later about those results as well
as results for a downloaded binary version of sage-5.4.1 which
includes and is a front-end for a binary version of maxima-5.26.0.
