Ummm, I didn't bring the slashdot discussion to the attention of this
list in order just to discuss the history of HP calculators here, among
the aging inbred community of Maxima developers. There is nothing wrong
with that discussion, of course, but slashdot is read by zillions of
mostly-young (immature) high-power technodweebs, and this could be a
wonderful apportunity to promote Maxima. I thought there were others
