Dear Sir:
Rupert here suggested to address my question to you. I need help in
running multifactorial non-linear regression analysis on Maxima. I've used
to do it on Macsyma 2.3, but this software is completely different.
Hope someone will reply shortly , otherwise I will have to turn to
Minitab.
Best regards - Anatoly

Well, I would have just waited for Robert to reply, but for the
following ridiculous paragraph:

The maxima-owner address actually points to several people, who
"moderate" the Maxima mailing list (ie check for spam). One of them is
indeed Robert Dodier. If you would like help using Maxima, rather than
help with a mailing list subscription, you should probably send an email
to the main mailing list.
The address is
maxima at math.utexas.edu
You'll find many people who can help you. Assuming that "complex" in
your previous email meant complicated, rather than over the complex
numbers, then I'm almost certain that what you want is possible with
Maxima. Of course, I'm not allowed to tell you that, because I'm not the
intended recipient(s). Convincing GMail to destroy all copies of your
message is a problem that I'm afraid you'll have to solve.
