Well, that's all I can see. Also, I guess ecl builds without unicode
support (like mine, it turns out!). I'll carry on battling with automake
for a little longer and see if I can improve things a bit.

Right, that makes sense. I'll happily spend some time on setting an
output format sensibly, since I'm hacking my way around this stuff
anyway. Until I worked out what I was doing wrong with Clisp, I thought
I was going to have to do it there. Thank you so much for the really
quick responses!
