What was the problem with Maxima+SBCL for Windows? If I remember correctly

I think a Maxima+CCL version was released, not SBCL... the problem was that
CCL only runs with processors having SSE2 instructions. At that time some
users (including me) complained about that because on old pcs Maxima
couldn't be executed, since old processors do not have SSE2.
If the problem is GCL, maybe at this point it is better to have a CCL
version than nothing, even though it will not be compatible with older
pcs...
If I remeber correctly, CCL was the fastest alternative to GCL, I don't
know about the performances of SBCL.
