The open source program 'OpenSCAD' has a 'surface' command that can take an xyz plot & allow it to be examined in 3D and even exported to '.stl' format for 3D printing, if desired.
The surface command takes a rectangular array of numbers & treats the numbers as heights in the Z coordinate direction.
OpenSCAD can translate, rotate, scale, etc., as well as lots of other capabilities.
