Is this on a git repository that you've upgraded? In which case I guess
that you have out-of-date Makefiles. Running configure (plus maybe
autoconf/automake etc.) should fix this. I think.
Otherwise, can you tell us more about your environment? The behaviour
you describe doesn't happen in any of my trees, but it looks like it's
triggered by code I wrote, so I want to make sure it's fixed! :-)
