Dear maxima list,
As Apple released Mac OS X Mavericks to the general public, I have
performed a smoke test on this new OS with the latest maxima and imaxima.
Results:
- You need to install X11 server after Mavericks install has finished to
use Imaxima, as it requires Gnuplot and Gnuplot requires X11.
- You may need to install Xcode or command line tools from Apple if your
Lisp system requires gcc and related tools. ECL, which I used for testing,
does require gcc at runtime for source compilation.
- Then, maxima 5.31.3 and imaxima runs quite nicely on Mavericks.
- On 'make check' for test suite, one test failed in rtest14.mac
out of 9600 tests. I haven't checked if this is caused by Mavericks or not.
My configurations are as follows:
Lisp: ECL 12.2.1
Maxima 5.31.3, compiled from source tarball with ECL
Imaxima: 1.03, the version included in 5.31.3 source
Emacs: Gnu Emacs 23.3
TeX: TeXLive 2011 Basic
Thanks and best regards,
