I have just noticed a problem with the info files and older versions
of emacs.
Apparently, when the info files are parsed by emacs, Info-toc-build is
not finding Up nodes.
The patch in
http://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/emacs.git/commit/?id=41c68b7139d0b58a1f3abb14d317b23d8f536521
fixes this problem--rather, it buries the problem by ignoring it.
My concern is that, to my knowledge, this is only affecting Maxima's
info files and is likely due to some bug in their construction. On the
other hand, info itself parses the Maxima info files without problem.
Emacs: 23.4
Maxima: 5.31.0
both installed from Debian testing.
