I experienced that the latest wxMaxima updates from Ubuntu do not start
at all. Don't know what's going on there.
Installing the same wxMaxima version from debian sid works as intended
on my Xubuntu including zoom and scroll control.
vivi-liu wrote on 27 October in a thread '[Maxima] wxmaxima' that
installing the latest libwxgtk2.8-dev package might be helpful for
wxMaxima on Ubuntu. Maybe this is related to your problem.
