Hi for all.

I open maxima in text mode and run the following commands:

print (stringdisp);
labels (inchar);
stringdisp : not print (stringdisp);
labels (inchar);

Is the your outputs corrects?

On maxima manual we have:.
The function @code{labels} quotes its arguments
