I agree about the duplicate lisp files and trash files - does anyone
think the unknown stuff may be of use? I suppose if the routines are
lost there's not point in keeping the documentation around, but maybe
someone can think of a reason?

Ok. Sounds good. Once the manual is loaded into CVS maybe they can be
moved there, and be gradually absorbed.
