Yes, I modified the code a bit. Not necessarily the cleanest, but
init-readline just calls readline-init with sane defaults, and maybe a
few other minor things.
Should work as is. Please let me know if not.
TODO, add a check on `tty` in the gcl script to run init-readline only
if invoked on a terminal.
