Ah. The contents of maxima-pre59 are completely unsupported. All maxima
development is now going on in the maxima module. To try it, you will
have to check out the cvs module. Instructions are available from the
cvs link at <https://sourceforge.net/projects/maxima/>;. There is a file
INSTALL.cvs which should get you started.
