FWIW, I just compiled GCL 2.5.0 and the old Maxima 5.6 under RedHat 7.1
(this is at my place of work using a scavenged Micron PC, which I think is a
Pentium with 64Mb RAM and unknown processor speed). The original test suite
worked correctly, but it seems that the XMaxima interface has a few minor
bugs (which I can live with for the time being). GCL built without
problems. I can supply further details if anyone is interested.
