Dear All,
I'd like to inform you about our new software project, WebMathematics
Interactive (WMI) which uses Maxima as an optional computer algebra system
backend. You can read some information about the goals of this project on
http://wmi.sf.net (it is rather obsolete, however I'd like to publish the
newest version as soon as possible) or try WMI directly on
http://pascal.math.u-szeged.hu/wmi (note that this demonstration frontend
uses Maple as the default engine but it can be easily changed in Setup
menu after clicking "WebMathematics Interactive" on the bottom of page).
We are using Maxima 5.2 for Linux, however it should also work with newer
versions, too. We would be thankful if someone could help in testing
or/and developing WMI. Any idea, suggestion is also appreciated.
WMI is a free software, conforming to the GNU GPL. The newest source code
can be downloaded using CVS from http://sf.net/projects/wmi. Version 0.3
which can be downloaded as a tarball, is rather obsolete (but also works
well), so I suggest for everyone interested looking into the source
via CVS.
Yours sincerely,
