Just for the record: It is my intent to release 5.9.0 with prebuilt
windows packages. In fact, the fact that we do not yet have the packages
for release candidate 3 is the *only* non-trivial item holding up the
release of 5.9.0.
I have been working on learning enough windows to build windows packages
myself, but I haven't had time to finish yet. We have a volunter to do
the packaging, but he hasn't had time yet, either.
Making things easy for the user has always been the intention; we just
aren't finished yet.
