Windows installation

Dear Kova'cs Zolta'n,

My impression is that Maxima (at least 5.5 beta for Windows)
can be installed and run on any computer even without an
internet connection. (I have distributed Maxima to my students
through CD-ROM and I have not heard any such complaints.)
It is sufficient that the downloaded file (the Windows executable)
be present in the CD-ROM. GPL should also be respected
(i.e. sources should be always present in a distribution.) I repeat
my experience concerns 5.5 beta for Windows, but I am sure
this is also the case with the very recent 5.9.0 rc4. Just
downloading is required through an internet-connected
computer. The program can next move, installed and run
on another Windows machine just through a CD-ROM or
a zip drive. Diskettes (several of them) are not very convenient,
but, in principle, possible with some care.

Best regards from Patras,

Nikos
