Installation on Windows - (Fwd) Re: [Maxima] update on socket problem

Hello,

Here is, I suppose, the message I posted on the list, Cliff is speaking
about ? I will download the new version and re-test the new version on
small versus big partitions, ans post the result.

But I believed, from a message of J Amundson, just after mine that he had
understood where the pb came and had corrected it?

Yes, it is a bit annoying on slow machines. But maxima.bat opens Maxima in
1 s in
a command window, while xmaxima.bat opens it in 45 s, in a Tcl/Tk window,
on one
of my machines. So maybe the problem comes from xmaxima.tcl, not maxima
itself
nor gcl ?

After installing on a 0.8 Go partition instead of a 80 Go partition, Maxima is
launched with xmaxima.bat in 1 s instead of 45 seconds on the same machine used
for the preceding tests, so I would suspect a bug (or feature?) in xmaxima.tcl,
such as looking for a non-existent file on the whole disk ?
