Maxima/XMaxima 2d output transfer in LaTeX under Windows

Dear Colleagues,
I try to learn and get improved in using Maxima, but I always
have some problems. Now I attempt to include a Maxima
session (in 2d prettyprinted output and without using the tex
command) in a LaTeX document by using XMaxima in Windows
(something analogous to what is the case in both Maxima manuals).
I have been easily able to copy the session with the mouse, bring
it to the text processor (PFE in my case) and then I inserted this
text inside a \begin{verbatim} \end{verbatim} LaTeX environment
(together with the use of a monospaced font, Courier in my case,
there).
Unfortunately, the final output in the dvi file (or, further, in the
PDF file) is extremely ugly (contrary to my expectations), since
all the vertical alignment has been completely lost (and almost
everything has been moved to the left). Therefore, I am unable
to insert the Maxima 2d output into a LaTeX document as it
appears on the screen without using the TeX Maxima command
I mean.I must confess this is possible in PFE and in Notepad too,
but impossible in the final dvi file, to which I am now interested in.
In other words, a so beautiful display in XMaxima, PFE or
Notepad becomes so ugly after LaTeXing it. Could be this
avoided, please (as is already the case in the Maxima manuals?)
I would be grateful for any help on this so important (at least for
me) problem.
I remember, Stavros made a related suggestion (before about
two months) and mentioned a special command in Unix to avoid
this phenomenon (I call it the TAB phenomenon, since it is related
to the TAB character, which seems not correctly recognized by
TeX.At least I think (?) I know the problem and this is a progress
for me, but I do not know the solution to this problem!) Do you
feel there is a similar or dissimilar approach in Windows (by using
XMaxima I mean in 2d and, next, LaTeX)?
To be sincere, I wish that, if possible, the output can be two-
dimensional (prettyprinted exactly as in XMaxima under windows).
I do not wish to use the command display2d : false (although this
is what I do when sending messages including Maxima results).
Many sincere thanks in advance and best regards from Patras,
Nikos
