Thank you very much Mike for the gnuplotting advice. It works well now.
I didn't even need the .bat file in the maxima bin folder. I put the
folder containing mgnuplot in path and no problems with spaces in
filenames since i install all gnu stuff uder c:\gnu rather than
c:\program files.
While we're on the subject of plotting, is it possible to plot from
xemacs (maxima-mode or imaxima) in windows. I get a command line error
'defined path not found' when i try to plot either with gnuplot or the
standard xmaxima plotting in xemacs. Xemacs starts the command line from
the directory where the xemacs shortcut is and i have tried placing the
xemacs shortcut in the maxima bin folder, but that didn't help.
