continuing work after plot

Hi,

it seems that after plotting a graph with plot3d or plot2d using 
Openmath, gnuplot or geomview I can only continue with calculations 
after I closed the graphs. Is there a way to be able to keep the graphs 
visible and still continue to work in maxima?
