Several issues here.

1. You seem to have created the info files on Windows. maxima
doesn't like CRLF. It wants LF. If I convert that, maxima gets
    farther.

2. In maxima.info, maxima wants to see something like

        Node: Function and Variable Index^?572142

where ^? is a Ctrl-? (0x7f) character. In your file we have something
    like

Node: Index des fonctions et variables594757

    where that character is 0x81.

It might be possible to modify the info reader to handle this, but
I'll have to do some looking.

XEmacs doesn't seem to be able to handle the French info files. At
least when I try to read about INTEGRATE, it can't find the node.
