My point about PDF preview for Windows is mostly that the
presence of Acrobat on many (most?) Windows boxes makes it
easier to share the results of analysis with others,
especially nontechnical others.
Recently I was allowed to use LaTeX+dvipdfm to write a report
at work, since the result was a PDF document; the alternative
was MS Word, and PS was not an option.
