I did have to specify --with-clisp-runtime to configure;
for some reason it was not located automatically.
Then rebuilding Maxima (current cvs) with clisp 2.31 yields
a system which works as expected: after load("plot.lisp");
(unmodified), plot2d still works as before (no error message).
Although load("plot.lisp"); complains about redefining a
macro, F*. I guess that's OK.
Then I can do load("my-plot.lisp"); and see if it works.
Incidentally I'd like to suggest that the patch shown
in bug report #834729 be adopted. Can someone take a
look at it?
For what it's worth,
