1) Agreed, numericalio.lisp is better name than is io.lisp. Please
rename it.
2) I would like somebody else to take over numericalio.lisp; however,
before you put it in the
contrib directory, let me try to fix one bug. Given the current
design, it might not be worth fixing.
If that's the case, I might comment out the offending feature.
3) If the volunteer starts from scratch, it's fine with me.
4) io.lisp uses ignore-errors. This function is missing from gcl 2-5.0.
I'll report this bug to the
gcl folks (maybe they know about it already.)
5) You might consider making directory named something like
/contrib/extra-io. I can think of a few
projects (such as reading and writing spreadsheet files) that would
belong in this new directory.
