Can't argue with that :-).  I guess my main reaction was a holdover
from the intimidation of watching Fresco and its attempted use of
CORBA, but that was a different type (and scale) of problem.

I was more concerned that we might wind up having to impliment some
large chunk of missing functionality needed by Maxima, but considering
I like McCLIM for the GUI I don't know why that would worry me :-).

If CORBA/CLORB looks like the best tool for the job (or that it can be
made into the best tool for the job), I'm all for it.  This is one area
where getting it right the first time would save a LOT of pain down the
road, and is well worth some effort/learning curve up front.
