Yes, that's a good idea. I put a link to the Maxima mailing
list information page on the front page (http://maxima.sf.net/wiki).

Well, for better or worse there are very few messages on
the Maxima forums at SourceForge. This mailing list gets
all the traffic, so I don't want to direct people to the
SF forums.

Actually, you can sign in with just a BumpyNameLikeThis
and no password. So the wiki is already open for everyone.
About security, I agree that is something to watch for.
So far there haven't been any problems. I believe the main
problem on open wikis is link spamming, followed by vandalism.
The Maxima wiki seems to be getting a little more popular
so I guess I'll back it up more often.
