Subject: A complete suite of statistics programs in Lisp?

The Lisp-stat project of some years ago (based on a not-quite-common
lisp XLISP)
includes this...
ftp://ftp.stat.umn.edu/pub/xlispstat/other/CL/README
which has all the non-graphics code of that
system, and supposedly runs in AKCL and other lisps (as of 1990?)
It seems to require a little work, since there are some
C programs in the directory.
Has anyone looked at it?
For a while, this xlisp lisp-stat stuff was used at a number of places,
including UCLA. Now it seems that R, and S (or S-Plus) have taken
over.
