proposal to make wxMaxima an installation option

Yes.

Not quite.  There is yet another Maxima-wxMaxima integration issue.
At present wxMaxima uses its own private copy of HTML documentation
in [Help] -> [Maxima help] menu.  As default GUI it should
use HTML installed with Maxima package instead.
To do this Maxima must provide HTML with some additional
index files.  We already agreed with Andrej to fix the problem
together.

I also worry about Portuguese and Spanish documentation.
It would be great if wxMaxima will try to use translated
documentation (if available) in appropriate locales.
