Sure, so the last day to make changes to appear in the
new release is July 31.
We'll go through a few release candidates -- in the past
the whole process has taken 3 or 4 weeks.
The actual release will probably be late August.
Even after the branch, you can continue to commit to cvs head
just as you are doing now. But post-branch commits on
cvs head won't appear in the new release.
Commits on the branch are limited to fixing problems
in the release candidates.
