Some lisps on some platforms provide GUI tools (windows, sliders, etc), so
if you are running Maxima on one of these, and are willing to write a little
lisp code, you could set up a lisp program (or maxima function) that can
take input from a window. For example, Allegro CL on Windows (free trial
download) can do such things and has an extensive set of examples and
documentation. Linking Maxima to a lisp function called foo is as simple as
naming the function $foo.
Others may respond about GCL or CLISP or ... but you also could say what
operating system, if you want precise answers.
If you want to write yet another front end to maxima, which might be an
alternative approach, you might look at the many previous guis.

Subject: GUI
Hi
I''ve written a small program in Maxima. Now I wish to make a simple GUI to
launch and control the inputs of this program. Is this possible in Maxima?
Anybody has a manual for doing so?
What can I do in case Maxima doesn't have this toolbox. Launch maxima from
GUI made in visual basic?
thanks
