help in getting maxima compiled (from cvs) on Dapper

Where would one find information on:

"WxMaxima is a sizeable project on its own, with its own staff, goals,
project resources, etc." -- Robert Dodier wrote:

Also, what are your exact responsibilities with regard to the Maxima
Project?

Are all Maxima related work efforts that produce an executeable package
still considered "free" and "open" software?

Does this Maxima List just address development issues or does it operate
as a general Maxima List in the same fashion and with the same general
policies as most other general open and mostly free Lists on Debian?

Are the people working on Maxima (this list) funded or volunteers and if
both what is the man power (staff) associated with funded versus
volunteers? Also, are the developers on this list the same ones
indicated on the Maxima Project on Debian?

Finally, who makes the decisions on this list as to the progress and
extensions of the Maxima Project?
