There is an implementation of Python in CL named CL-Python.
It only works for Allegro at the moment. I tried it and got a
working Python repl, so I'm encouraged to try some more
complicated stuff. The "Express" version of Allegro
(free of charge to download) won't compile Maxima unless
some of the SLATEC stuff is omitted from defsystem IIRC.
I haven't tried Maxima + CL-Python yet. If someone else
tries it, I would be interested to hear about that.
