I'm taking a look at it now, but just to clarify, while my attention might
be sufficient, it isn't necessary. What I mean to say is that I don't run
this circus. On the whole, Maxima is not very strongly organized,
and there doesn't seem to be much interest to change that. I mention
it just for clarification.
Looking over the patch you sent, I don't see any substantial problems.
I wouldn't bother trying to fix up the gschmidt alias. Let's take the
opportunity to just cut it. Multiple names for the same thing are a
source of confusion.
Also I think I would rename the innerproduct argument from inprod
to something else. It turns out inprod is already the name of something
(an alias of innerproduct ... hmm).
If you can devise some additional test cases that would be very helpful.
