Maxima restarted

David,

Thanks for working on the package. I think I actually
upgraded a bunch of packages and didnt notice that maxima
was included. I started a session before the upgrade. When
it crashed and restarted automatically it was the new
version! So I attributed the problem to the crash. The
false alarm is my fault.

But:
In debian version 5.13.0-3.2 in the file
/usr/share/doc/maxima/README.Debian

appears the following text (note mistake in version number)

  What's new in 5.15.0

I (David Bremner <bremner at unb.ca>) have packaged this version of
maxima using sbcl instead of gcl. Currently we lose the nice header
when maxima starts up, and you have to use rmaxima (or emacs :-) ) for
command line editing. On the plus side, it now passes the test suite,
  at least on i386.

Still, if I had read it, I would have figured out what was going on.

Thanks,
John

(btw. I am still somehow not subscribed, but I will figure it out)
