BUGS is Markov chain Monte Carlo computation of Bayesian
models on directed graphs.
Its main drawback is that it is, essentially, Windows-only.
However, there is a nice open-source alternative now,
called JAGS, that will run on Unix:

JAGS also interfaces with R.
