Hello,
I remember that I installed Maxima under a German Vista and run into trouble because I
chose the installation directory manually. I guess that a Frensh Vista is also English-based
and there are path-translations as well. My installation then worked when I let the installer do
the job. If I remember right, I only had to check Maxima and XMaxima (Tcl/Tk) in the
Windows firewall. I can't remember of problems with Data Execution Prevention (DEP).
I am also a teacher and none of my students reported any installation problems. So it should
be easy ;-)
