Linux installation of Maxima

Hi Eric,

I also use openSUSE, although version 11.0 now. Compiling Maxima is
very easy and almost always free of problems. You can also install it
from the repositories using YAST. In that case you just open YAST and
do a search for Maxima.

In case you want to compile do:

1. open YAST and retrieve from the repositories:
    clisp
libreadline (in case you don't alrady have it, as it seems)

2. get the code from the webpage

3. unzip, untar

4. ./configure (may be you want to use --prefix=/your/preferred/location)

5. make

6. make install

And that's it.

Good luck,

Hern?n
