I dropped mlistp and replaced it with $listp, and Volker's patches still
work fine as intended, so I have committed them. Thanks for pointing this
out!

The function $listp is defined in comm.lisp. I don't think we need to
define mlistp in
simp.lisp (CVS version 1.61), do we? The function $listp is a bit more
careful than
mlist, by the way.
