Perhaps. I remember when you were beating on this problem.
If you were to do it again, today, you might consider trying to embed
Maxima symbolic calculation instead into the Open Office spreadsheet.
It's open source, meaning you could probably find the right hooks and
avoid the sweet agony of OLE.
I haven't thoguht about this at all, and implementation would be a
horrendous job, but perhaps this would be hook for getting Maxima in
front of some larger audience.
