wxMaxima and Maxima - process terminated error - SOLVED

Running wxMaxima 0.8.3a-4.1.i586 and maxima 5.19.2-6.1.i586 results in wxMaxima complaining "maxima
process terminated" in the status bar.  Removing --disable-static-wx from ./configure resolved the issue and now wxMaxima works fine.
