Maxima in Windows Server 2003

Vasily,

the GUI wxMaxima establishes a network socket connection to Maxima. So
you have to configure the firewall to allow I/O through that specific
port.
If I understand right, Command Line Maxima starts Maxima using cmd.exe's
system-I/O-streams. I expect this should work on Windows Server.
Don't know about the GUI Xmaxima at the moment.

By the way, I do not recommend to install additional software on a
domain controller. Or is this computer a simple workstation?
Another option is to install a virtual operating system on top. Then
your host system Windows Server is protected from whatever you do in
your guest system.

Hope that helps
