Maxima 5.21.1 release problems

I had to do a system restore because all previous versions of wxMaxima that I had stopped working too. I have not
reinstalled 5.21.1, I am afraid the same thing will happen again. Now that I have done the system restore all the
previous versions work fine. I wxMaxima at fault or is it something in the installer that wiped out some settings (or
whatever).
