Hello, it said on the Maxima web page to send questions to the Maxima
mailing list. I have a rather important question, I have a College
project due in 2 days that requires me to use a CAS program to compute
an answer. I have never used any CAS program so it is rather difficult
to understand.
Question: Use your computer alegbra system to differentiate theta and
find a numerical value for the root of the equation d(theta)/dx = 0.
Now I have entered
"diff(arccos(x^2+8.363+267)/(sqrt(x^2-4.29x+1042)(x^2+12.8102x+1177))),
x);" into Maxima, which I assume should be the right format from the
tutorials I have read; but I get an error "incorrect syntax: X is not an
infix operator 64)/(sqrt(x^2-4.29x+" there is an arrow pointing at the x
after -4.29
Could you please tell me how to correctly input the equation into
Maxima?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
