Hi,
I have read the readme.txt file regarding the problems getting the
windows version of 5.22 running. I have used the DEP feature in
Windows 7 by turning on dep for all programs except the maxima .exe
program which i browse to within the program files. No joy. I have put
my anti-virus and spyware firewall software (zone alarm) to trust both
maxima and wxMaxima across the board. I have also completely turned
off the spyware program entirely just to see if that had an effect.
Still no joy. I have checked the task manager to see if the maxima
program will start running even for a brief time and appear on the
task manager. It does appear for a few seconds when I restart maxima
within wxMaxima gui but then it disappears from the task manager list.
I also see that when i do this the cmd.exe also appears briefly and
disappears. I have even gone into the bin and lib areas and run
maxima.bat and maxima.exe and they briefly flash before my eyes with
the black dos screen and stop running. I have gotten inside the
configure feature of wxMaxima and i notice that it is pointing to
something inside the /bin/ area but that location is unmodifiable. I
don't know what to do. Please help.
