Yes, I copied the entry to a console and it worked out perfectly.

Anther point, where I got some more information:
I started wxmaxima using
> strace -f -e trace=open wxmaxima 2> /tmp/trace_wxmaxima
There where several messages cntaining File not found.
I had to create an empty /etc/cups/clients.conf to get it a bit better. Now
maxima terminates (as seen in the strace) with an segmentation fault.
Maybe it has also something with the network to do: Using Xmaxima (not
wxmaxima), I get an error like that:

I think this is not a problem of (w)xmaxima but of maxima itself.
One last comment:
Maxima used to work properly with wxmaxima. One day (I do not know why) it did
not run anymore.
